We welcome school children and teachers to our farm as day visitors.
  
 
Now in our 5th generation of farming of which we have 725 acres (293ha) of owned land. Our focus is arable, free range poultry, contracting, dairy and Ice Cream. We are situated just off the A47 and located 3 miles from Dereham. 

Adult:child ratio for visits
 Our ratio are:1:3 (nursery and year R)1:6 (year 1-3)1:10 (year 4 and above) 

Teacher Pre-visits
We ask that all teachers make a pre visit to the farm before the group visits. The visit will be a chance to discuss the plans for the visit and for the schools own risk assessment. 

Risk of Infection
 There is a risk of people picking up infection from direct contact with our farm animals and from the animal faeces and from fences and gates around the fields and animal pens. Infections spread on hands that have touched animals, gates, fences or poo and then touch food or drink or are put in a mouth. 

Best way to control the risk of infection are
While the group is on the farm – no fingers in mouthNo food or drink to be taken on the farm. Thorough hand washing at the end of the farm visit   

Be prepared
All visitors should bring wellington boots in a carrier bag. Please wear other shoes to travel to and from the farm.Wear old clothing suitable for the weather and outer clothes for wet weather. All clothes should be washed when you get home. 

On the Farm
Put on your boots just before you go to walk round the farm.Please listen to instructions reference safety on the farm.Remember – while you are on the farm No fingers in mouths! Remind others if you see them doing it.Always carry antiseptic hand wipes for use around the farm if needed. After and before your walk go through the disinfectant then take off your boots and put them in your carrier bag to take home.Then wash your hands thoroughly using soap and water before you have food or drink. 

At home – Important!
Make sure boots and outer clothes that you wore on the farm are washed clean, right away from any food.
